Governance
Definitions of 'governance' vary and do not necessarily refer to governments but can also mean the 'manner in which power is exercised' (Weiss, 2000). Customs, practices, values, regulations and law, policymakers, strategies, stakeholders, influences, ... all relate to governance. In other words, governance is the sum of the processes and ways individuals and institutions, public and private, 'manage their common affairs' (Commission on Global Governance, 1995).
