RehabCare: A Community and Sustainable Environmental Project

RehabCare: Abbey Garden Project

Organisation   RehabCare
Target Group  RehabCare Service Users and Community
Description

The Franciscan abbey site located in the centre of Cavan town has been the site of a rejuvenation project piloted by RehabCare Service Users and staff since June 2014. RehabCare was selected to represent Cavan within the 'Get Involved' community initiative, a competition that promotes community and sustainable environmental projects nationally.

Service users and staff immediately set upon clearing and preparing the garden area, cultivating a garden and sourcing/painting furniture to make the park more relaxing and aesthetically pleasing to visitors of the national heritage site.

Service users really enjoy working outdoors getting fresh air and using their skills and talents to turn the garden into a beautiful outside space for everyone in the Community to enjoy.
