Daily Life Skills Training in Vocational Education - Astangu VRC
Course Description
Daily Life Skills Training supports the learner’s independence and preparation for working life, as well as coping with everyday situations. The course focuses on acquiring practical skills necessary for adulthood—from personal hygiene and health care to cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
Learning takes place through practical activities, discussions, and independent work. In lessons, students safely practice skills needed to manage their lives and live independently after school. The subject helps develop a sense of responsibility, teamwork, time management, and awareness of personal health and environment.
Why this is important for young people
Daily Life Skills Training is a transitional subject that helps young people move from the school environment into independent living. The skills learned form the foundation for self-management, readiness for work, and social participation. The subject supports:
- development of everyday practical skills (food, home, money, transportation);
- a health-conscious and responsible lifestyle;
- growth of social and communication skills;
- self-esteem, cooperation, and self-expression;
- independence and confidence in decision-making.
